What this NOL Card Fare Calculator does
RTA prices by zone count and card class, not a flat fare — a 3-zone trip costs more than a 1-zone hop on the same card, and the four classes price differently at every zone count. Cover all four classes across 1, 2 and 3+ zones here, multiplied by trip count, for a real total instead of a guess from a fare chart.
General-purpose version of the NOL tools. If the question is narrower — 2-zone specifically, daily caps, Silver vs Gold — use those instead.
Why people search for NOL Card Fare Calculator
New to Dubai, first metro ride, the zone system isn't obvious from a station map alone.
Or comparing card classes directly — Silver to Gold roughly doubles at every zone count, which isn't obvious until the totals sit side by side.
How NOL card fare works (educational)
Fare by class and zones: Silver 3/5/7.50, Gold 6/10/15, Blue 1.50/2.50/3.75, Red 4/6/8.50 for 1/2/3+ zones. Multiply by trips. Daily caps (Silver/Blue 14, Gold 20) aren't included here — use the Daily Cap calculator for multi-trip days.
How to use this calculator
- Select your NOL card or ticket type.
- Choose the zone count for your trip.
- Enter how many similar trips you're taking.
- Tap Calculate to see the total fare.
- Switch card class to compare Silver against Gold for the same trip.
- Use the Daily Cap calculator instead if you're taking several trips in one day.
Worked examples
Add each trip's zone fare across the week for a real total.
A 3+ zone Gold trip is AED 15 one-way — double Silver for the same route.
Lowest per-zone pricing of the four, subject to eligibility.
Tips to save money or avoid mistakes
- Card and top-up fees sit outside these fares — count them once, not per trip.
- 3+ trips in a day? Check the Daily Cap calculator before assuming simple multiplication.
- Gold roughly doubles Silver at every zone count — worth it only for the cabin.
- More than a handful of trips a week? Compare against a 30-day pass.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Silver 2-zone fare?
AED 5.00 on this calculator's educational rate table, versus AED 3.00 for 1 zone and AED 7.50 for 3+ zones.
Does Gold double the Silver fare?
Yes, roughly: Gold prices at 6/10/15 across 1/2/3+ zones versus Silver's 3/5/7.50 — close to double at every zone count.
Do daily caps apply to Red tickets?
No, this model applies caps to Silver, Blue and Gold personal-style cards only — Red tickets follow different rules. Use the Daily Cap calculator for Silver/Blue/Gold multi-trip days.
Are buses and trams included, or just the metro?
This fare structure covers eligible Metro, bus and tram journeys under RTA's shared zone system, not just the metro.
Should I use this or the 2-Zone calculator?
Use this general calculator if your trip spans 1 or 3+ zones. If it's specifically a 2-zone commute — the most common route — the dedicated 2 Zone Fare calculator skips a step.
